LASIK Surgery
See Clearly. More Freedom.
Experience clearer vision with advanced laser vision correction

Considering LASIK?
Sharper Vision provides you the safest and most advanced technology available today!
We use bladeless flap creation with wavefront optimized LASIK to provide our patients sharper vision than ever before possible!
Even those who are not a candidate for traditional LASIK may be able to successfully have bladeless LASIK.
It is simply “the best of the best.”

What is Bladeless LASIK?
Traditionally, the first step of the LASIK process involves the creation of a cornea flap using a mechanical device.
Alternatively, Bladeless LASIK is an all laser technique that uses a high frequency femtosecond laser for flap creation.
This provides a more uniform and predictable flap.
Because the flap thickness is programmable, even those with thin corneas may be LASIK candidates.
Why is a Wavefront Optimized LASIK Important?
The second step to having LASIK is reshaping the cornea to make images come into better focus.
Older non-wavefront methods reshape according to the glasses prescription of the patient.
Wavefront LASIK goes a step further and reshapes the cornea to correct defects in the visual system which may not be addressed by the glasses prescription.
These are called higher order aberrations, and by reducing them our patients enjoy high definition vision!
Learn More About LASIK Surgery

Bladeless LASIK
LASIK has been performed on millions of patients in the U.S. since being introduced in the late 1980’s. Every year more LASIK procedures are performed worldwide than any other elective procedure. The advent of bladeless flap creation has made for a more comfortable procedure with quicker recovery and excellent visual results when compared to older methods of using a blade for flap creation. At Sharper Vision we use only the most advanced vision correction laser systems when improving our patients’ eyes; this includes using scanning spot laser beams to produce smoother corneas with faster treatments, and infrared pupil tracking to guarantee proper centering regardless of patient movement. When combined with wavefront optimized LASIK treatments, more patients than ever before are enjoying excellent vision and freedom from contacts and eyeglasses! Because of these advancements LASIK has even been approved by the United States military and NASA for its fighter pilots and astronauts, who require superior vision under extreme conditions.

Wavefront Technology
Wavefront technology was developed by physicists to measure distortions that occurred when light traveling through the atmosphere was scattered on its way to the earth’s surface. By correcting for these distortions in the light wavefront, also known as higher order aberrations, astrophysicists could focus light from distant stars and planets much more clearly with telescopic lenses, and military satellites could read license plates from space! It is now possible to utilize wavefront technology to analyze detailed information about an individual patient’s visual system, specifically recording the way each eye distorts light entering from the outside world as it travels to the retina. Unlike more traditional measurements such as corneal topography, which measures only the front surface of the eye, wavefront data define the way the entire optical system of the eye processes light. Because each patient has a unique visual system, the wavefront data has been likened to a fingerprint, and by incorporating that data into the LASIK treatment we provide a much more individualized, higher definition result!
